About the ignorance that sports are faced with
The art object Sport Stuffed Shoe Pair was developed on the occasion of the Euro08 art-project "penalty instead of a one two" in the KKL Uffikon.
Martin Gut: "Admittedly, I`m not really interested in Sports and particularly not in football." Sport Stuffed Shoe Pair is the manifestation of a saying that recurred during the conceptualization of my works on the theme of football.
I once rode the train and had the desire to read a newspaper, but didn`t have one with me. I was sitting opposite a person who was indulging on that passion. Consequently I asked that person as to whether he could loan me a part of his newspaper. He replied: "I`ve already read the sports` part; you can have that, if you want." I said a little disappointed: "No I use that part exclusively to stuff my shoes."
