Inclusion of Everything Imaginable

Inclusion of Everything Imaginable by Martin Gut

Michelangelo once observed that every sculpture is already in the stone, his role as an artist was to help it to emerge. He would never have thought, that in the future - according to the principle of a hot glue gun –an automated machine would be able to build a sculpture using an additive process and an artificial material collectively known by the term plastic.

The artist Martin Gut wondered whether Michealangelo’s idea could be transferred to a 3D printing process. After all, if a machine like this, filled its maximum printing space and created a cube, this cube would have contained every conceivable sculpture – obviously, the printer unlike the artist is not interested in all the possible forms contained within the cube.

Martin Gut`s concept art project «Inclusion of Everything Imaginable» was curated by Heinz Stahlhut for the exhibition «Kunst-Stoff Plastik» in the Museum Hans Erni 2020/2021. My3Dworld GmbH sponsored the material and provided the printer.

Due to technical malfunctions during the exhibition, the printer had to be replaced and the print speed was reduced. Thus three «Inclusion of everything imaginable » cubes were created instead of one.
