Martin Gut’s Office for Salvage of Missed Opportunities is, on the one hand, a three-dimensional line drawing; architectonic, clear, geometrical, dark – inviting to play with the geometries, look at them from different angles and see them through.
It is, on the other hand, a vessel for pure Conceptual Art that has never wished to be a concept. Remains of competition entries – too exciting to be simply shelved, but barely realistic, reasonable, or conformable enough to ever be realised (at the time).
The list of missed opportunities, or concepts: for this installation, three works of Martin Gut (Scrobis, Applause Currency, and The Sound of the Orchestra) were salvaged, revised, and then digitised for his web archive in the gallery space Turbine Giswil October 19 to 26, 2018.
