World Currency of Switzerland Bound to its Intact Nature

World Currency of Switzerland Bound to its Intact Nature, Martin Gut 2017

"mondo mono alkroĉita al nerompita naturo" "de la ŝtato svislando" are the words written in Esperanto on the coin.

This financial system bases itself on a worldwide eco-currency, which shapes every country and its value, which, must be measured on its intact nature. This means that the value (or quantity of money) of each nationally characterised world-currency fluctuates, depending on the amount of intact nature of the respective country.

There is a display on the back of the coin showing a potential value. This value will be reached when the whole national territory comprises of intact nature. The coin’s value, however, is the amount currently shown on the display. Its value is based on the amount of intact nature of its respective country. This in turn generates an incentive for the care and replenishment of natural resources.

The work "World currency of Switzerland Bound to its Intact Nature” is based on Martin Gut’s book and art object “The System of linking Cash Generation for Art and Cultural Innovation with the relationship of Monetary Supply in Ecology”.
